During the 1964 campaign, President Johnson spoke to a crowd of 4,000 people at Casper on October 12. He was given a jade cuff-link set and his wife received jade earrings. Caption in newspaper: "PRESIDENTIAL REVIEW - Members of the Troopers Color Guard, American Legion National Champions and former VFW Champions are reviewed by the President of the United States who, it was reported, was impressed with the authentically garbed Eleventh Cavalry junior drum and bugle corps that greeted him at Casper Air Terminal." |
