Group photo. John Wayne in the center with microphone, facing right and trooper, Jim McIntyre, Drum Major, facing left Katharine Ross sitting closest to John Wayne after Troopers performance in parking lot of Holiday Inn, 1968. Horizontal B&W. Caption in newspaper: "JACKALOPES AND MOUNTAIN LAND: Casper Trooper Jim McIntyre accepts a Civil War holster and pistol from John Wayne who told the group that he had been "deeply moved" by the Troopers and called them the "best I've ever seen." Wayne made the presentation on behalf of the cast and crew of Universal Studios. Earlier McIntyre gave Wayne a Wyoming jackalope and Producer Bob Arthur a deed to an inch on Casper Mountain. Wayne wanted to know if Arthur got the mineral royalties with the land. Shown from left to right are Director Andrew McLaglen, Mayor Milt Coffman, Wayne, Ken Larsen and McIntyre. In the foreground are Vera Miles, Katharine Ross, Mrs. Arthur and Alberto Morin. "The Hellfighters" crew was honored at a special Trooper performance and public "get-together" Friday night at the Holiday Inn." |
